The ninth International Gaming Awards was held at The Savoy Hotel London on the evening of Monday 1st February 2016. This prestigious annual awards ceremony also acted at the ideal curtain-raiser to this year’s ICE Totally Gaming event than ran between February 2nd and 4th at London’s ExCel exhibition centre. Let’s start by taking a quick look at some of the winners from IGA 2016 and then we can take a look at what happened at ICE Totally Gaming 2016.

IGT won the ‘Best User Experience in Mobile’ award. Studio City Macau won the ‘Casino/Integrated Resort of the Year’ award. Wynn Resorts won the ‘Casino Operator of the Year Americas’ award. Crown Resorts also won the ‘Casino Operator of the Year Asia/Australia’ award. Caesars Entertainment UK won the ‘Casino Operator of the Year Europe’ award and The Ritz Club won the ‘Casino VIP Room of the Year’ award.

TCSJohnHuxley won the ‘Casino Equipment Supplier’ award. Paysafe won the ‘Corporate Services Supplier of the Year’ award. Yggdrasil won the ‘iGaming Software Supplier’ award and Microgaming won the coveted ‘Innovator of the Year’ award. Sky Betting won the ‘In-Play Sports Operator of the Year’ award. Eurolotto won the ‘Lottery Operator of the Year’ award and Mr Green won the ‘Mobile Operator of the Year’ award.

Play’n GO won the ‘Mobile Product of the Year’ award. Mecca Bingo won the ‘Online Bingo Operator of the Year’ award. Leo Vegas won the ‘Online Casino Operator of the Year’ award and Cherry won the ‘Online Gaming Operator of the Year’ award. PokerStars won the ‘Online Poker Operator of the Year’ award and William Hill won the ‘Online Sportsbook Operator of the Year’.

Finally, SafeCharge won the ‘Payment Solutions Provider Company of the Year’ award. Galaxy Entertainment won the ‘Socially Responsible Operator of the Year Land’ award. Unibet won the ‘Socially Responsible Operator of the Year Online’ award. NetEnt won the ‘Slot Provider/Supplier Product of the Year’ award. Videoslots won the ‘Slots Operator of the Year (Online)’ award and BetConstruct won the ‘Technology Provider/Supplier’ award.

The following day, at ICE 2016, Pravin Patel from Guinness World Records was there to hand out official Guinness World Records® certificates to Microgaming, Betway Casino and Jonathon Heywood, recognising the world-record-breaking £13,213,838.68 (€17,879,645.12) progressive jackpot win that occurred at Betway Casino on game called Mega Moolah on October 6th, 2016. Guinness officially handed Microgaming’s CEO, Roger Raatgever, with a certificate, as well as the Sporting Events & Media Relations Manager from Betway, Alan Alger, and the 26-year-old UK winner Jonathon Heywood.

Also at ICE Totally Gaming, lots of exciting new games were previewed by Microgaming, NetEnt, Betsoft Gaming and by various other leading online casino software providers.
